Kansans are friggin out of it, Chocodiles do exist

So, I'm bowling the other night with my league crew and I mention Chocodiles. They look at me like I'm speaking Swahili. "Chocodiles, what are those?" Are you f-ckin kidding me? Chocolate covered Twinkies, I proclaim. "I've never seen them, they don't exist." What the f-ck ever! I guess you've never heard of horehound candy then either, right? And, of course they haven't. I asked this to six different people and they were all clueless. So, I'm on the hunt to find some, which I can get online, but am looking locally, and then I'll gladly chow down one or two right in front of them since they're so YUMMY! Horehound candy, on the other hand, is an acquired taste that I have yet to fancy.

What's even more ironic is there's an Amish community not but 15 minutes from where we live, and people still haven't seen this stuff. Kansas may be the Land of Oz, but there's definitely no place like home (Springfield, MO), where Chocodiles and Horehound Candy are plentiful.

Old School memories

I got in an Old School mood and decided to browse You Tube, so enjoy these videos and reminisce.

Masta Ace-Born to Roll

2 Hyped Brothers & a Dog-Doo Doo Brown

Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock-It Takes Two

Newcleus-Jam On It

Ollie and Jerry-There's No Stoppin Us

Breakers Revenge (Beat Street)

Hasim-Al-Naafiysh

Kraftwerk-Tour De France

What started out as a blast from the 90's, ended as an ode to Breakdancing. Oh well, I couldn't get a video for Kid Sensation-Back to Boom or Gucci Crew-Sally, so you got some true classics from the 80's instead!! By the way, Boogaloo Shrimp aka Turbo from Breakin 1&2 is still poppin and lockin and I hear he has a documentary coming out.

Plies vs Lil Wayne

I have no idea what Plies sold for the first day of release, but I hear that Lil Wayne could have moved around 600,000 units, which would put him on track to go platinum by week's end. I witnessed first-hand how many people grabbed Weezy, walked right by Plies, and headed to the register. Maybe it's the state of our economy, maybe it's the fact that Lil Wayne had a big-ass poster for the last month promoting his album, or maybe there just wasn't much marketing around Plies new album. I did pick up both CDs, but haven't had a chance to get a thorough listen. My gut tells me that I'll like Plies more, since I think Weezy is overrated and spits a lot of redundant garbage. But, I'm happy that there's a rap release that puts the genre back on the map and in the eyes of the industry. So, you be the judge, who has the better album?

An update: A quick listen of Plies had me in disappointment. Sadly, he seems better when he collaborates with R&B singers, and his flow is almost always the same on this album. My store blew through about 55 Weezy's for first-day sales, and 4 Plies.
